Our Night in Japan

The Fab Four couples (Matt, Marcela, Grant, Cami, Mike, Kaylee, Devin, Jade and I) decided to have a 'Japanese Cuisine' Family Home Evening last Monday. We made sushi, vegetable and shrimp tempura, gyoza and teriyaki chicken kabobs. It was SOOO good. 

We'll really miss these guys when we're back in Canada for the summer. Perhaps they need to book flights to Alberta...

I'm glad Marcela has such a big smile on her face. We basically badgered her all night. "How do you do this Marcela?" "Is that enough such-and-such Marcela?" "Where's this-and-that go Marcela?" 

Thank you for being such a great teacher Marcela. We never could have done it without you...literally :)

Ward Chili Cook-Off

We had so much fun at the ward chili cook-off on Friday night. Yum...delicious chili, salads and cakes. 

The Wiebe Family are truly cowboys (Jenny was even a Calgary Stampede girl). Thanks for the western wear Jenny :)

The Lowace's! We're going to have a new addition in 2 weeks (Kaylee is at 38 weeks already). All things considered, she still tore up the dance floor (please see below).

Jade has had a cast for a week now...and has LOVED every minute of attention.

So Sad

Two boys bulldozed over Jade in nursery and hurt her arm. She wouldn't stop crying and holding her arm, so we took her to the ER in Windsor (nothing else was open Sunday afternoon). They x-rayed her and it turns out she has a fracture in her right forearm. We had to leave at 6:30 am to get to Windsor early the next morning for her to get a cast put on.

Jade hasn't skipped a beat with her new pink cast. We are constantly complimenting her on her new accessory...and she thinks it's pretty sweet. Occasionally we hear a "OOOOOO!!" as she admires her pink addition.

The Fab Four

On Saturday morning (at 9:30 to be exact) the four of us girls went to get hair make-overs. It was so much fun to have a "Girls Only" morning. 

We decided to do a quadruple date that night (you know...to show off our new hair do's!). First we all went to the temple, then we went for ice cream at Cold Stone, and then we finished off the night by going back to our place for games and popcorn. What a great night for the fab four!

Playgroup

This month Jade and I were in charge of hosting our little playgroup, so we decided to do finger painting!!!

Jade is a great artist.

Everyone seemed to have a good time...and I don't think we lost our damage deposit ;)

Game Night at the McNerney's

Our friends Matt and Marcela hosted a game night at their place. It was great to hang out with other couples...

...eat lots of good food (including the chocolate fountain)

...and play some crazy games!

Projects

Lately I've found myself involved with "homemaking" projects. I'm sure no "Suzie Homemaker,"but just between you and me...I had a lot of fun doing these activities:)

Jenny came up with the great idea of dying play scarves with Kool-Aid. Apparently little girls love to play "make-believe" with these scarves. All I know is that it was fun to make them! Thank you Jenny :)

 

Kaylee and I decided to cook some freezer meals (she's preparing for the baby's arrival and I'm preparing for finals). We made Chicken Enchiladas and Chicken Lasagna. The way I talk about being prepared for the baby...you'd think I was having this baby!

Chicago!

It was so much fun to have dad and Amy come visit us! They met us in Chicago on February 12th and we had a party!!!

Dad and Devin went to the Chicago Auto Show (Jade, Amy and I shopped).

My Birthday

We went to the Shedd Aquarium for my birthday. Jade LOVED the fish. We constantly heard, "ISSSHHH, ISSSHHH!" (she's even saying it as I type this post).

After the Aquarium we went to Benihana's for supper. It was the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. We enjoyed delicious sushi and then watched the chef cook our meals at our table. I had a WONDERFUL birthday!! Thanks for coming guys :)
